The vegetation of this area in the higher centre of the zone is never cut. The soil is too shallow to sustain a dense vegetation layer and many different herb species get a chance to enter and flower in spring. It is now getting to dry and the flowers are limited to those of Sedum sediforme, Scabiosa comulumbaria and, soon, Picris hieracioides. The tall grass species are Avena fatua and Avenula bromoides (in the foreground), which also have stopped flowering.

Maintenance is limited to selecting and removing unwanted trees and shrubs, especially Blackberries and the occasional almond tree, to maintain an open, park-like landscape.

La vegetación de esta área en el centro de la zona no se siega nunca. El suelo es poco profundo para mantener una densa capa de vegetación y muchas diferentes especies de hierbas encuentran un hueco para crecer y florecer. Ahora se está haciendo demasiado seco y las flores se limitan a las de Sedum sediforme, Scabiosa comulumbaria y, pronto, Picris hieracioides. Las gramíneas altas son Avena fatua y Avenula bromoides (en primer plano) que también han dejado de florecer.

El mantenimiento se limita a seleccionar y quitar árboles y arbustos indeseados, especialmente zarzas y a veces un almendro, para mantener un paisaje abierto.
