In the last 4 weeks only a few litres of rain have fallen and that`s too little for the grass species to survive in the 6cm of soil on the roof but enough for the Sedum species to flower and thrive. The yellow Sedum acre has finished flowering and it`s now the time for the white flowers of Sedum album and S.anglicum, soon to be followed by the yellow flowering Sedum reflexum and then the white flowers of S.sediforme. Most of the plants originate from the cuttings I planted three years ago. No irrigation or practically no maintenance whatsoever is required and the layer of soil and vegetation forms a nice protective and isolating layer for the roof. Recommended.

En las últimas 4 semanas cayeron solamente unos cuantos litros de lluvia y esto es demasiado poco para las especies de gramíneas para sobrevivir en los 6cm de tierra del tejado, pero suficiente para las especies de Sedum para florecer y prosperar. El amarillo Sedum acre ha dejado de florecer y ahora toca el turno a las flores blancas de Sedum album y S.anglicum, pronto seguido por S.reflexum con flores amarillas y después S.sediforme con flores blancas. La mayoría de las plantas provienen de los esquejes que planté hace 3 años. No hace falta nada de riego ni otro tipo de mantenimiento y la capa de tierra y vegetación forma una buena capa protectora y aislante para el tejado. Recomendado.
