First Loquat flowering

The Loquat tree or Japanese medlar/plum (Eriobotrya japonica), is one of the very few fruit trees to flower at the beginning of winter. This is the first time our tree has flower buttons, after a somewhat precarious existence of about 5 years. The chalky soil might be the problem.

El Níspero del Japón (Eriobotrya japonica), es uno de los pocos arboles frutales que florece al principio del invierno. Es la primera vez que nuestro árbol florece, después de una existencia algo precaria de unos 5 años. El suelo calcáreo puede ser el problema.
